PDF to DOCX Converter
Extract the text from a PDF into an editable Word document, right in your browser.
Used 2 times
Conversion happens entirely in your browser, so your PDF is never uploaded. This tool extracts the text only: images, tables, and exact page layout are not kept, scanned PDFs are not supported, and text in right-to-left languages such as Urdu or Arabic may not extract correctly.
What this PDF to Word converter does
This tool reads the text inside a PDF and places it in a new, editable Word (.docx) file. Everything happens in your browser, so the PDF is not uploaded to a server. You can use it for PDFs up to 25 MB.
When it works well
It works best on PDFs that were created from a text document, such as exported reports, letters, notes, or ebooks. If you can select and copy the text in your PDF viewer, this tool can extract it.
- Reusing paragraphs from a report or article
- Editing a letter or notice you only have as a PDF
- Copying study notes into a document you can change
What it does not do
The converter extracts text only. Images, tables, columns, and exact page layout are not carried over, so expect to reformat the Word file. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages with no real text inside, and this tool cannot read them. For those you need OCR software.
Tips for better results
- Open the PDF first and check that you can highlight the text.
- After converting, review headings and line breaks, because these are rebuilt from the text positions.
- If the file is over 25 MB, split it into smaller PDFs before converting.
How to Use This Tool
- 1Upload a PDF that contains selectable text.
- 2Click "Convert to Word (.docx)" and wait for it to finish.
- 3Check the page, paragraph, and word counts.
- 4Download the Word document and edit it.
